You're on

Okay Ben, I clock in at 270. What are the terms?

Yay!

240.

Whoever loses 10% of their weight first wins. Wins what? I don't know. Respect? Money? Dares?

As I recall, you proffered the challenge at $100 with the caviat that the weight has to stay off. So, I will state a revised offer:

First person to lose 10% (27 lb for me) and then three months later still has the same weight or better. Now if the money would set you back a bit then maybe we could think of something else that would be equally appealing like a massage at the Well Within or something ... even though that is still $$$. For me, however, it is certainly a motivator.

Now Jackie, you said you wanted to wait a month before joining in. I have no idea why you would need to wait a month... so we started without you unless you chime in here.

Let's add the rule that if your 3 month term has started (because you hit your goal) then at any time during that three months you may be compelled to be weighed in the presence of your opponent. If at any time during the three months you fall out of your goal weight, you must start the three month term over after you make your goal again.

OK, $100 it is. Three months seems short, but I'll go with that. Actually, after I make the 10% goal, I'm going to go for another 10%. My eventual goal is 180, or 25% off my current weight. 25%!

Maybe J Master Red is going to wait a month because she is shy about posting her current avoirdupois. >:)

OK, I'm off to exercise a bit.

Oh yeah. I'm going to post my weight once a week right here. Off topic or not.

Yes, it seems as if Jackie's current weight, while not particularly low or high, is known as "the deadly number" which could kill if anyone were to behold it with the naked eye. She wants to reveal it in a safe environment where we can read it while wearing welding goggles.

As for posting your weight every week, surely that is a fine idea. I myself will have it in my sig in each blog post, the next of which should be soon.

Also, I want to make sure you understand the three months is the "keep it off" time. There is no time limit on meeting your goal.

No time limit except the other person making their goal first, yes?

Maybe I can make some special glasses to view "the deadly number" in safety.

Jordan, you're doing some sort of lame Slashdot "First post!" imitation by calling "last post"?

Clever.

Ok, so this is Pardis joining in on the diet bet thing and my weight is (13.6015) squared, rounded off to the nearest pound. There, I've said it.

So your goal is 12.9034879 squared, rounded to the nearest half pound?

Anyone can join in, but my bet is with Aaron alone.

If, like you, I had an endless supply of disposable income I'd lay a bet with anyone who came along.

Heh heh heh heh heh.
